Opening THIS Friday: Millennium Art Salon presents: Ten Artists for Ten Years, 10th Anniverary Exhibition

Millennium Arts Salon officially kicks off its 2010-2011 with the theme, “Celebrating Artists,” saluting artists through exhibitions, salon talks, print collaborations and more.

Commemorating Millennium’s over ten years of serving the DC Arts Community, “Ten Artists for Ten Years,” Exhibition, curated by Sharon Burton of Authentic Contemporary Art, opens October 22nd with reception from 6-8pm at the Sumner School Museum and Archives, located at 1201 17th Street, NW in Washington, DC.

This exhibition will feature the works of 10 emerging and mid-career artists, reflecting the diverse artistic expressions that have helped to shape the Washington DC art scene for the last decade.

Artist featured include Gwen Aqui, Billy Colbert, Doris Colbert Kennedy, Victor Ekpuk, Elsa Gebreyesus, Sonya Lawyer, Chris Malone, Anne Marchand, Michael Singletary and Frank Smith.

Salon Talks with featured Exhibiting “10 for 10” Artists will be held at the Sumner School, 6-8pm on the following dates:

Wednesday, November 3, 2010: Where We Have Been (Moderated by Sharon J. Burton)

Tuesday, November 30, 2010: Where We Are Now

Friday, December 10, 2010: Where We Are Going
