39th Street Gallery presents an exhibition of works by local artists Sharon Burton, Cheryl Edwards , and Heekyu Hong.   The exhibit is in conjunction with the Real and Remembrance Exhibit in the 39th Street Gallery.

I will be exhibiting works from the Metamorphosis Series.
Regular Gallery Hours:
Thursday and Friday from 7:00 -9:00 PM
Saturdays from 12:00- 3:00PM and by Appointment

 

 

Highlights of “Giving Voice” Art Reception: 6/1/12

 

Despite the inclement weather (heavy rain, thunderstorms and oh, a tornado warning) this past Friday, the reception for “Giving Voice” at Convergence in Alexandria went off pretty much without a hitch!

Curated by Barbie Fischer, the gallery director, “Giving Voice” includes multi-media art by Vicki VanArsdale, Richard Montoya, Glenn Howell, Tori Lane,  Pamela Underhill , E. Russell Lynn,   Bud Hensgen, and yours truly.

An “artists” talk, led by Lisa Cole Smith, Executive Director of Convergence, focused on what is meant from an artist’s perspective of “giving voice” and our responsibility of bringing that voice artistically to life, specifically for those without a way to be heard.

Special thanks to my friends who braved the elements to attend the reception.  The exhibition is on view at Convergence through June 29, 2012. Convergence is located at 1801 N. Quaker Lane, in Alexandria, Virginia.  Gallery hours are  Tuesday – Saturday, 10:00 am – 2:00 pm and by appointment. For more information, call  703-998-6260.
